Even though I didn’t speak Turkish, look very different, and didn’t have any prior knowledge of the place and culture I felt very comfortable and accepted. The first week was rough and was quite a culture shock, but then I was going to school, conversing in Turkish, meeting friends, and travelling all over Turkey and to countries nearby. I quickly became a local. Turks’ hospitality and friendliness welcomed me to the country and to their homes. I can now call Turkey a home!
That is why I started this blog to share the great experience I had and a glimpse of what Turkey has to offer. In this blog, I included topics such as education, people, travel, religion & practices, and food. I feel that the media doesn't really talk about Turkey and when they do it is often skewed. I hope from reading this blog, you can gain a better understanding of the country and also some tips on traveling, studying abroad, and understanding the culture. I highly recommend visiting Turkey and explore the horizon and kebab!
