Recipe – Fried cauliflower w/ sauce

Kannabahar Kizartma Soslu (Cauliflower fried with sauce)

Ingredients

  • Garlic (2 teaspoon/pressed)
  • tomato sauce (1/2 cup)
  • lemon (1/juiced)
  • flour (1/2 cup)
  • parsley (1/2 bunch/chopped)
  • Cauliflower (1 floret)

Cauliflower Preparation

  1. Clean and cut up the cauliflower to little florets

  3. Steam or boil until softened
  4. Drain out water
  5. Pat in dry flour mixed with salt for a batter
  6. fry in oil till golden brown, place over paper towel to remove excessive oil

Sauce

  1. Oil the pan and add garlic and a pinch of salt
  2. Add 1 cup of water, tomato sauce, and lemon juice into the pan
  3. Simmer at low heat till hot, then remove from stove
  4. Add in the fried cauliflower, toss, don’t stir, to get it evenly coated with sauce
  5. sprinkle parsley on top

Serve warm with yogurt.  A great dish in the summer when paired with cold yogurt. The lemon and the parsley adds a freshness to the dish.
